10/15/2014 On Wednesday, Oct. 1st, NATOA presented the Harford County Office of Information and Communication Technology with their 2014 Community Broadband Fiber Network of the Year award, in recognition of their efforts on the Harford Metro Area Network (HMAN). KCI provided turnkey design, build and maintenance services for the installation of the high-speed fiber optic network.
KCI provided project management and design services to replace the existing two-lane structure carrying US 21 over the Catawba River with a 1,000-foot-long, four-lane steel beam bridge. During construction, contractor Lane Construction worked with KCI in designing a lifting frame system to launch 60-ton girders laterally from the existing bridge, avoiding impacts to the river and uncertainty associated with mobilizing barge mounted cranes over the shallow river bottom.
KCI is pleased to announce the acquisition of Redding Linden Burr (RLB), a Houston-based engineering company specializing in mechanical, electrical, plumbing (MEP) and energy services. With sales exceeding $5 million in 2013, RLB is a recognized leader within the Houston building construction and maintenance community. Their portfolio includes a variety of facility types, from office and retail to schools and hospitals.
