As a corporate citizen, KCI has sponsored annual programs to raise funds for United Way, the Chesapeake Bay Foundation, Make-A-Wish Foundation, Ronald McDonald House, Multiple Sclerosis Society, Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, and American Breast Cancer Foundation. Employee volunteers have teamed with scientists to help children learn about and save our natural resources; built houses for the homeless through Habitat for Humanity; participated in sports challenges to support research fighting cystic fibrosis; conducted seminars for area elementary school teachers; sponsored engineering design competitions for area youngsters; and visited middle schools and high schools to mentor children about careers in engineering and science.
By the nature of their professions, KCI employees make a difference every day in the community by designing improvements to transportation systems, schools, hospitals, and parks, as well as streams and other natural environmental features.
